- Introduced mine equipment performance reports that exposed the true cost of operating an aged fleet due to down time from breakdowns and awaiting spares and repairs. This resulted in the decision to purchase a new fleet.
- Evaluated the financial feasibility of a build operate transfer (BOT) project which led to a substantial infrastructure investment in Ghana railways to improve rail tracks from the Nsuta mine to the port of Takoradi. The project resolved shipping bottlenecks caused by constant derailments and increased train travel speeds resulting in the company saving on expensive contract road transport.
